Collection: Ban or restriction indicators

Prohibition and restriction indicators are generally circular. They usually have a red box and a black symbol applied on a white background.

It is usually installed immediately after an intersection that precedes a restricted point or section of the road, so that drivers do not have to turn to find a route to avoid restriction or prohibition. The exceptions for certain special locations are treated individually.

The significance of the indicators shall be applied immediately before or immediately after their installation, as appropriate. Indicators must be repeated after each intersection on the restricted sector in order to apply to those entering the sector on the side roads.

If the prohibition or restriction indicator is installed together with the local entry and entry indicator, it is meant to be applied throughout the route and during the crossing of the locality, to the maintenance of the local exit indicator or the essential indicator of restrictions.

As the significant application of the indicator begins at a certain distance from the installation site, the indicator is accompanied by an ad hoc panel on which the distance is written.

At the location of the prohibition on the movement of certain categories of vehicles, or in the case of limits on the total permissible mass or on axles, as well as in the case of limits to gauge, if the exemption is desired to be granted to those travelling by road, under the indicator a formal panel shall be installed.
